Pauline Poncelet, Your physiotherapist will be graduating with a master’s degree in physiotherapy from the Haute Ecole Robert Schuman in Libramont in September 2020. Her 4-year training includes theoretical courses in anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, pathologies (medical, surgical and sports), neurology, orthopedics, respiratory rehabilitation and medical imaging, as well as practical courses in specialized techniques, muscle chains, cardio-respiratory, neurological, geriatric, pediatric and orthopedic rehabilitation. She also received training in manual lymphatic drainage from Mr. Leduc O., TMJ (temporomandibular joint) from Mr. Snoeck T., and strapping from Mr. Hanus.

In^3rd year, her various internships to develop her clinical practice took place at CHEM in Niederkorn in the intensive care, geriatrics and orthopedics departments, in secondary specialized teaching in Marloie to deepen her knowledge of neuro-pediatrics, and in private practice, located in Louette-St-Pierre, combined with mornings at the “Bois Joli” retirement home in Carlsbourg. She also had the opportunity to accompany visually impaired people for a week on a hiking and climbing course in the Mont-Blanc Massif, with physical preparation throughout the year.

For her Master’s degree, she did internships in the traumatology and orthopedics department at Clinique St-Joseph in Arlon, and at Maison de la Sainte-Famille in Rouvroy, where she was exposed to different neurological and geriatric rehabilitation techniques, and led group gymnastics sessions. She then assisted the team of physiotherapists at the Maison Médicale in Habay-la-Neuve. Finally, she was able to discover some aspects of physiotherapy in the field of psychiatry at St-Martin Hospital in Dave.

At the end of her studies, Pauline presented a research paper on physical activity in women undergoing breast cancer surgery.
