{"title":"L'ultrasonothérapie à Dudelange","content":"**Ultrasound therapy applies a high-frequency sound wave to musculoskeletal tissue, via a gel and a moving head. At the Pôle Equilibre & Santé practice, Bloc A, 48 Rue de la Libération in Dudelange, it remains a brief adjunct: local analgesia and tissue preparation, never a stand-alone treatment for a tendinopathy, a sprain or low-back pain.**\n\n## What the ultrasound head produces\n\nAccording to frequency (often **1 MHz** deeper, **3 MHz** more superficial) and mode (continuous or pulsed), we aim for a light thermal or non-thermal effect. The head moves in slow circles: not a deep massage. Possible sensation: warmth, friction, or almost nothing. Excessive heat or sharp pain: we stop.\n\nThis is neither diagnostic imaging nor a “laser”. Parameters are set according to the area, depth and the goal of the day.\n\n## A place in the session, not the centre\n\nAdjunct indications: comfort on a selected tendon or muscle area, preparation before mobilisation, sometimes a scar when the assessment allows. Clinical guides on the cuff, ankle sprain or low-back pain insist on active work: ultrasound is only a fraction of it.\n\nTypical duration: **5 to 10 minutes** per area, within a session of about thirty minutes that mainly contains exercises, possibly [manual therapy](/dudelange/competence/therapie-manuelle), sometimes [electrotherapy](/dudelange/equipement/electrotherapie).\n\nPreparation: clean skin, without thick cream. Accessible area. Prescription. Mention pregnancy, obstructive superficial metal implant, wound, infection, sensory disorder, or a recently irradiated area.\n\nAfterwards: driving generally possible. No expected DOMS. Slight redness fades quickly. Sport: ultrasound validates no return.\n\nResults: session comfort sometimes. A lasting change is built through movement and load, over weeks. If no benefit after a few trials, we drop the modality.\n\n## Contraindications\n\nPregnancy over abdomen/low back, eyes, gonads, pacemaker on the path, local infection, malignant tumour on the site, acute thrombosis, open epiphysis in a child, areas of major sensory deficit — the assessment rules them out.\n\n## Frequently asked questions\n\n<details>\n<summary>How should I prepare and what should I wear?</summary>\n\nClean skin, area easy to uncover, prescription. Mention pregnancy, wound, infection or sensory disorder.\n\n</details>\n\n<details>\n<summary>How long does the application last?</summary>\n\nOften five to ten minutes per area, at the opening or as an adjunct to a wider session.\n\n</details>\n\n<details>\n<summary>What does one feel?</summary>\n\nWarmth or almost nothing. Burning or sharp pain means we stop.\n\n</details>\n\n<details>\n<summary>Do ultrasounds cure a tendinopathy?</summary>\n\nNo. They can help comfort. The foundation remains progressive loading and movement.\n\n</details>\n\n<details>\n<summary>Can I drive and resume sport?</summary>\n\nDriving generally possible. Sport: according to the active programme, not according to ultrasound.\n\n</details>\n\n<details>\n<summary>What are the contraindications, and is it reimbursed?</summary>\n\nPregnancy over certain areas, infection, local tumour, pacemaker on the path, etc.: the assessment rules them out.
