The perineum is the set of muscles extending from the pubis to the coccyx. It therefore has a direct influence on the proper functioning of the urinary, fecal and sexual systems. The perineum has three main functions:<\/p>\n
Perineal or perineo-sphincter re-education is a simple and effective way of achieving or restoring a good balance between these three essential functions. Its aim is to work on the flexibility, contractility and tone of the perineum.<\/p>\n<\/div>
Perineo-sphincter re-education, at the rate of 1 to 2 sessions per week, begins with a session to raise awareness and explain the perineum, accompanied by basic hygienic-behavioral advice. The second session will begin with a manual assessment to best focus the treatment for each patient. She will continue with the first basic exercises to improve proprioceptive control of the pelvic floor. Subsequent sessions will evolve according to each person’s progress and the different objectives set together. You’ll be given tips and simple exercises to do at home as you go along, so you can make progress as quickly as possible. At the end of each session, if you wish, you can enjoy a relaxing andullation session<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div> Various complementary urogenital rehabilitation techniques are available:<\/p>\n The therapist uses an intravaginal (for women) or anal (for men) digital probe to assess the perineum’s ability to contract and relax, and to strengthen or relax the muscles that make up the perineum.<\/p>\nThe techniques used<\/h2><\/div>
